This wiki page serves as the software release notes for SqueezePlay/Squeezebox Controller 7.2 release.
Note that while this document is specific for that platform, many of the changes described below are either all or in part software changes made to the core SqueezeCenter server code to enhance the interaction with the Controller.
If you are a SqueezeCenter user, you should update to 7.2 to take advantage of these features (after updating SC to 7.2, your controller will automatically detect there is new 7.2 firmware to install).
SqueezeNetwork users will receive notification of new Controller firmware to install after SqueezeNetwork servers are updated to 7.2-based code.

Key Features Added
Support for New Alarms
The alarm code in SqueezeCenter has been totally overhauled in SC 7.2 (kudos to Max.Spicer for that). The new alarms in 7.2 are supported in the Controller UI as well:
Player Settings Enhancements
Audio Settings
Player audio settings, e.g. crossfade and volume gain are now found under Settings->Audio.
Player Display Settings
Player display settings (for those players with displays) have been added and are now found under Settings->Display. More display settings will be made available via the controller in future firmware releases.
Architectural Improvements
Support for sending Slider objects from SC
Objects can now be sent from SqueezeCenter (or from SqueezeCenter plugins) that render slider widgets on the controller, complete with command callbacks to the server. Examples in SC 7.2 are Settings->Audio->Treble/Bass and Settings->Alarm->Alarm Volume.
Previously choice items (e.g., Settings->Repeat and Settings->Shuffle) could only be sent for "HomeMenu" items (items sent to controller for the base home menu structure) and not "SlimBrowse" items (items sent after a cli callback on a HomeMenu item). This is now supported for both types of items.
