Alarm Clock Reliability
After Squeezebox Radio's initial release, many user complaints were filed against the alarm clock not being reliable, particularly in situations where the radio lost its connection to the server (either a local Squeezebox Server or more commonly mysqueezebox.com).
There was a focused effort to achieve the basic goal of making sure that audio is played at alarm time, whether via the network or in cases of server failure, a client-side fallback alarm. There was code in 7.4.0 to support this but it was extremely buggy and not adequately tested. The 7.4.2 release brings much stability to this simple goal.

Please note, there is significant further work to be done with the alarm going forward: better support for multiple alarms, smarter server-side notifications, rework/rethinking of alarm provisioning via WebUI or mysqueezebox.com
Battery Support
With the 7.4.2 release the Squeezebox Radio accessory pack is being released for sale, which includes a battery (look Mom, no wires!). There was significant effort to make the low level charging support for the battery work properly to coincide with its availability.
Full Bleed Artwork in Now Playing
The 7.4.1 Now Playing UI design brought "full bleed" artwork to both Radio and Controller. This brought a mix of feedback--some users really liked this, others really did not like it. Please note this is already further enhanced in 7.5.0 to allow a user to toggle between full-bleed and a smaller artwork view with a turn of the knob/wheel.
