Clean Install of SqueezeCenter on ReadyNAS
To perform a clean install of SqueezeCenter on your ReadyNAS, try the following:
Prepare by Gathering Necessary Files
- Download the following files from the ReadyNAS & Squeezebox download pages
- There are two variants - the Pro/NX and the NV/NV+/Duo. Make sure to select the correct version for your ReadyNAS

CleanSqueezeCenter for x86 (Pro and NVX models) - found here: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/x86/4.2/Clean_SqueezeCenter_DB_1.0-x86.binDO NO LONGER RUN THE CLEANUP SCRIPT - AS OF Squeezebox Server 7.6 IT'S NO LONGER WORKING.
- Radiator (ReadyNAS firmware)- latest version found here: http://www.readynas.com/download (ex. RAIDiator-4.1.7)
- Squeezebox Server for ReadyNAS- found here: http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download
- Be sure to get the correct version of SqueezeCenter for your ReadyNAS. We have 2 versions: one for the ReadyNAS Pro specifically, and one for all other versions of ReadyNAS.
- Place those files in a folder on your desktop.
Run RaidAR, then click on Setup and login to the ReadyNAS Admin page.
Update ReadyNAS Firmware
On the Admin page, go to System > Update > Local tab.
- Click on Browse and browse to the folder you stored the files in earlier.
- Select the Radiator firmware file and click "Upload and verify image..." (ex. RAIDiator-4.1.7)
- Once the file uploads, click on "Perform System Update".
- Once the update is finished, go to the Shutdown tab and select "Shutdown and reboot your device", then click Apply.
Once your ReadyNAS restarts, log into the Admin page again and move on to the next step.
Remove Previous Version of SqueezeCenter (or Slimserver) and Install New Version
On the Admin page, go to Services > Streaming Services.
- Check the box next to SqueezeCenter, then click on Remove in the same section.
- Now, go to System > Update > Local tab.
- Click on Browse and browse to the folder you stored the files in earlier.
- Select the Squeezecenter 7.3.3 file and click on "Upload and verify image..."
- Once the upload is finished, click on "Perform System Update".
- Once the update is finished, go to the Shutdown tab and select "Shutdown and reboot your device", then click Apply.
Once your ReadyNAS restarts, log into the Admin page again and move on to the next step.
